Police arrested the woman’s partner, who, according to local media, including Huelva Informacion, is reportedly an Italian man in his sixties. The two were traveling in a camper van and were staying in the Spanish town on vacation. Guardia Civil sources told LaPresse that the woman’s body, bearing stab wounds, was found in Isla Cristina at around 9:00 this morning. “Although the causes are still under investigation, a man, her partner, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the incident. All possibilities remain open and the possibility that this is a case of gender-based violence has not been ruled out,” they stressed.
