Frankfurt (Germany), 29 Aug. (LaPresse) – The Iranian government has reaffirmed its intention to resist US sanctions and what it terms ‘conspiracies’ by the United States and Israel, emphasising that diplomacy and defence are ‘complementary, coordinated and inseparable’ tools for safeguarding the country’s national interests, security and territorial integrity. In a statement released today and reported by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the government outlined its commitments to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and the Iranian people. Tehran has pledged to counter the “unjust sanctions” and to improve the living conditions of the population, whilst reaffirming the importance of national cohesion, in line with the statements made by Khamenei on Friday. The government has also identified technology, education and scientific leadership as priority sectors for the country’s development and for achieving the objectives set out in the manifesto for the “second stage of the Islamic Revolution”.
