Rome, Aug. 31 (LaPresse) – UAE presidential adviser Anwar Gargash said the Middle East region needs “realistic and sustainable” political solutions, which must begin with de-escalation and the restoration of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Gargash said the approach must go “beyond” the Memorandum of Understanding, which, he argued, “failed to set out a practical and acceptable roadmap.” The statement, reported by Al Jazeera, came hours after Iran said it had targeted the United Arab Emirates, allegations that Abu Dhabi rejected.
