Among the victims is an Indian national. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a post on his social media channels. “A large number of jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles were used in the attack,” said Zelensky, reporting damage to residential and civilian infrastructure. In Boryspil, he reported, a five-storey residential block was damaged and 50 people were evacuated. “In total, there are four dead and 13 injured in the city. My condolences,” he wrote. In Kyiv, the president added, an attack on a railway depot left seven people dead. “The Russians struck a railway depot in Kyiv, killing seven people,” he emphasised. Since Sunday evening, Zelensky added, air strikes and drone attacks have also hit Odessa and the surrounding region, leaving thousands of families without electricity. A border crossing with Romania and export infrastructure were also hit. The regions of Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Dnipro were also under attack. “In total, 12 people have died, including an Indian national, and dozens more have been injured in the attack. My condolences go out to all those who have lost family members and loved ones,” said Zelensky. The Ukrainian president accused Moscow of planning the attacks with the aim of “dealing a heavy blow to the population and causing as many casualties as possible” and reiterated that the number of casualties depends directly on the availability of air defence systems. Zelensky then thanked the countries that are contributing to the supply of missile defence systems, expressing the hope that deliveries would increase in the coming months.
