Milan, 1 September (LaPresse) – In August 2026, 69,411 cars were registered, compared with 67,290 registrations recorded in the same month of the previous year, representing an increase of 3.15 per cent. This was announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. There were 315,569 transfers of ownership, compared with 306,196 recorded in August 2025, representing an increase of 3.06 per cent. Of the total monthly sales volume of 384,980, 18.03 per cent were new cars and 81.97 per cent were used cars. Registrations are based on data from the National Vehicle Register as at 31 August 2026, whilst data on transfers of ownership refer to certificates issued by the Motorisation Offices in August 2026.
