Venice, Sept. 5 (LaPresse) – “Years ago in interviews I came up with a somewhat silly phrase: ‘I would always like to make the same film, preferably an increasingly better one.’ Well, as time went by, I told myself that I don’t want to always make the same film. So this time, also thanks to the work of Valia Santella and Federica Pontremoli, we imagined a rather powerful love story.” Director Nanni Moretti said this at a press conference at the 83rd Venice Film Festival to present his new film in competition, ‘Succederà questa notte’, a work that marks Moretti’s return to Venice 37 years after his last appearance with ‘Palombella Rossa’ (1989). “Damn, I really wanted to talk about current affairs and politics, maybe next time,” Moretti then joked.
