Milan, 6 Sept. (LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the evacuation of certain settlements in the occupied West Bank deemed illegal under Israeli law. This was stated by the far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, according to reports by Al Jazeera. “As far as I know, Netanyahu has given instructions to evacuate certain settlements,” said Smotrich, adding that he did not approve of this decision. Although all Israeli settlements in the West Bank are considered illegal under international law, some of them – built without government approval and often consisting of just a few prefabricated houses – are also considered illegal by Israel.
