Rome, 7 Sept. (LaPresse) – Valter Lavitola, during his unsolicited statements before the Review Court judges, is reported to have admitted that his friendship with the presenter of *Report*, Sigfrido Ranucci, also brought him a personal benefit. “He spoke of a need for social redemption following the well-known legal proceedings in which he was involved. It was a collateral benefit that he did not conceal, but distinct from the motive alleged by the prosecution,” reported lawyers Arturo and Sergio Cola. “Valter Lavitola accepted full responsibility for the manner in which the crime was carried out, but made it clear that the idea for the bomb belonged to Gomez, to whom he had given what was essentially a blank cheque.”
