Milan, 8 Sept. (LaPresse) – The run-up to the 2026 European Championships – the highlight of the Azzurri’s long season – continues with the official squad announcements. Alessandro Michieletto, who has recovered from injury, is also included. The continental tournament, scheduled for 10–26 September, will kick off with the opening match at 9.05 pm in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. The national team, drawn in Pool A, will face Greece (12 September, 9.05 pm), Slovakia (13 September, 9.05 pm), the Czech Republic (15 September, 9.05 pm) and Slovenia (17 September, 9.05 pm) at the PalaPanini in Modena following the opening match in Naples. After Naples and Modena, the European Championships will continue in Turin, where the PalaVela will host, from 20 to 23 September – alongside Sofia (Bulgaria) – the round of 16 and quarter-finals of the continental tournament. Finally, the city of Milan will host the semi-finals and finals on 24 and 26 September. Below are Head Coach Ferdinando De Giorgi’s selections for the 2026 CEV Enel EuroVolley Men’s tournament.
