(LaPresse) – “Tax policy is part of the centre-right’s DNA; there are various proposals which I have, of course, already heard about, and there is one issue that warrants consideration, namely young people’s wages. The problem that starting salaries are too low is abundantly clear. We must put forward a proposal from a tax perspective that is, however, aligned with a proposal from employers.” So said Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, speaking at the Lega event ‘A tua difesa – verso la Finanziaria 2027’. Recalling what was done in the last budget with tax relief on the recruitment of young people, the minister suggests that “something similar could be done through an agreement between business leaders and employers to increase salaries, with the government applying a flat tax on these increases”.
