Frankfurt (Germany), 9 Sept. (LaPresse) – “The black-red coalition is over.” This was stated by Alice Weidel, co-chair of the AfD parliamentary group in the Bundestag, as she opened the general debate in the Bundestag, referring to the result of the regional elections in Saxony-Anhalt and the current governing coalition between the CDU-CSU and the SPD. According to Weidel, the vote sent an unequivocal message from the electorate to the governing coalition formed by the CDU and SPD. “People finally want a change in policy,” the AfD leader emphasised. Weidel also described the draft budget presented by the government as nothing more than a “declaration of capitulation”.
