(LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he will sue Haaretz over an article claiming that he was warned by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed, prior to the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023, and that he failed to act on this information. Netanyahu has once again denied the contents of the article. In a post on X, the Israeli Prime Minister stated that he had instructed his lawyers to bring a defamation case against Haaretz and the journalist Shlomi Eldar. “Contrary to what has been claimed, from the beginning of September until 7 October” 2023 “no conversation took place between the Prime Minister and the President of the United Arab Emirates”, the post reads, adding that “the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council and the Military Secretary have meticulously examined the Prime Minister’s call log for those days, without finding any trace of such a conversation”.
