(LaPresse) – “NATO stands in solidarity with Germany following Russia’s reckless hybrid attack in Leipzig.” This was stated by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at a press conference in Berlin alongside German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. Rutte praised Germany’s “resolute and measured response” and emphasised that “ally after ally after ally” had spoken out in support of Berlin. “This is how NATO works: all for one and one for all. Russia wants to divide us, but we stand united,” said Rutte. “Russia wants to prevent us from helping Ukraine. But we will do more for Ukraine.” He added: “Russia wants to appear strong. But we are stronger.” According to the Alliance’s Secretary-General, “Russia’s actions are a sign of weakness and a symptom of its failure to achieve its objectives in Ukraine”. Rutte then reiterated that NATO “will continue to strengthen our ability to deter and defend all allies against any threat”.
