Milan, Sept. 12 (LaPresse) – “For me, over these years, it would have been more advantageous electorally not to support Ukraine rather than to do so. I did not support Ukraine for Kyiv, I supported Ukraine for Rome. Because, as I have said many times, Italy would have everything to lose in an international context in which the rules of peaceful coexistence among nations disappear and the law of the strongest prevails again. And, unfortunately, we are getting a taste of that scenario in these years.” The Prime Minister said this in an interview with Il Foglio. Asked ‘would you be willing to establish a rule for the future coalition: no alliance with the so-called patriots who vote against support for Ukraine?’, the prime minister replied: “Giorgia Meloni is certainly not willing to do the opposite of what she has done so far, or of what she believes in, for political or electoral calculation. I am a serious person, and I am not good for every season. Those looking for a prime minister who changes her mind based on the support of this or that party, always and only for personal gain, should look elsewhere.”
