Rome, 12 September (LaPresse) – “I never knew anything about the bomb at Ranucci’s.” This is what Natalia Potenza, Valter Lavitola’s former partner, told Rome’s anti-Mafia prosecutor Edoardo De Santis at the end of a hearing lasting over ten hours, during which she was questioned as a person with knowledge of the facts. The prosecutors focused their questions on the origin of the assets linked to Lavitola and on his financial dealings with Clelio Tavares in the management of the carbon credit business in Cameroon. The woman denied any involvement in the attack, reiterating that she only learnt of the attack on Ranucci the day after the explosion. She showed the investigators a series of accounting documents relating to the restaurant and the companies.
