Milan, 13 September. (LaPresse) – Kimi Antonelli is unstoppable. The young Mercedes driver has also won the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, on the brand-new circuit in Madrid, and has further extended his lead at the top of the World Championship standings. With a tactical race, almost like a veteran, Antonelli crossed the finish line in the Spanish capital ahead of Max Verstappen’s Red Bull and Lando Norris’s McLaren. Fourth place went to Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari, whilst Lewis Hamilton retired after seven laps due to a brake problem. With his eighth win of the season, coming seven days after his historic victory at Monza, Antonelli now holds an 81-point lead in the standings over his team-mate George Russell, who finished only fifth today.
