We gave it a go; the pace was there, but we know the result wasn’t ideal.” This is how Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur, commented to Sky Sport on Charles Leclerc’s fourth place at the Madrid Grand Prix. “Leclerc drove a solid race, made no mistakes and did a great job of getting the most out of the worn tyres. I think if anything was missing, it was in qualifying,” he added. “Hamilton had a brake problem and we decided to bring him in, because staying on track was too dangerous,” concluded Vasseur.
