Milan, September 15 (LaPresse) – Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi announced a 15-day extension of border controls at the air and sea borders with Spain this morning. He communicated the extension in a note addressed to the European Commission and his EU counterparts. The measure, the Interior Ministry announced, was deemed necessary following reviews conducted by the Committee for the Analysis of Immigration and Border Security, which met this morning, which concluded that “high risks to internal security remain, in addition to a potential threat posed by terrorist infiltration.”
