Unlike the left, which throws everything together and then takes it from there, we want to govern.” So said the Minister for Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, in an interview with the *Corriere della Sera*, referring to the fact that, according to the polls, without an agreement with Roberto Vannacci, the centre-right risks failing to reach 42 per cent. Do you consider the general unreliable? “He is working with the opposition against the Meloni government; he has voted for a motion of no confidence on several occasions, undermining the stability of our actions and risking the collapse of the first right-wing government in the history of the Republic: what are we talking about?”, replied Lollobrigida. Even if FdI were to match or exceed the 26 per cent it achieved in 2022, aren’t you concerned by the decline in support for your allies, the Lega and Forza Italia? “In life, one must be pragmatic. The upcoming elections will be a contest between two visions of Italy: the first is stable, has brought down the spreads, kept the books in order and asserted itself on the international stage. The other is a collection of parties without even a single leader yet,” observes the minister and FdI representative. When asked whether all outgoing MPs will stand for re-election, he replies: “Of course, anyone who wishes to may stand again.”
