(LaPresse) – Marco Procopio and his son Marco Antonio, the two cosmetic surgeons accused of manslaughter in connection with the death of Margaret Spada – the 22-year-old Sicilian woman who died in November 2024 following a partial rhinoplasty procedure carried out at the surgeons’ clinic in the EUR district of Rome – are to stand trial. The decision was taken by the preliminary hearing judge, who also admitted the young woman’s parents – she was originally from Lentini, in the province of Syracuse – and her boyfriend, who was present on the day of the operation, as civil parties. According to the findings of the Carabinieri’ NAS unit, which carried out the investigations and site inspections, the premises were unsuitable and lacked the necessary health authorisations. The first hearing has been scheduled for 9 March before the judges of the Ninth Collegiate Section of the Court of Rome.
