(LaPresse) – The Monza Public Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Claudio Gittardi, has sought the dismissal of the case concerning the offence of sporting fraud against former referee coordinator Gianluca Rocchi, the former VAR supervisor Andrea Gervasoni and the two former VAR referees Luigi Nasca and Rodolfo Di Vuolo in connection with the ‘knocks’ incident in the VAR room in Lissone between 2024 and 2025. According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the investigations have not revealed any evidence that would allow for a case to be ‘brought before the courts’ regarding ‘either the fraudulent nature of the conduct’ or ‘the specific intent’ required by law; in other words, that the conduct ‘was aimed at altering the result on the pitch rather than correcting refereeing errors’. This is the strand of the investigation that was transferred to Monza from the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office on the basis of territorial jurisdiction.
