New York (New York, US), 19 Sept. (LaPresse/AP) – A Politico reporter has also been denied access to the White House, along with journalists from CNN and MS NOW, following the ban imposed yesterday by Donald Trump. The publication itself reported this, stating that its journalist, Cheyenne Haslett, was denied access to the White House and had her press pass confiscated. The announcement came shortly after journalists from MS NOW and CNN had been removed. Politico’s editor-in-chief, Jonathan Greenberger, stated in a memo to the editorial team: “We stand with Cheyenne and all the journalists here covering the news from the White House. We will vigorously defend our First Amendment rights.” CNN and MS NOW had also issued similar statements. Yesterday, the US President announced that he would bar journalists from MS NOW, CNN and Politico from the White House due to what he described as unfavourable coverage and ‘fake news’.
