Rome, 20 Sept. (LaPresse) – In Nova’s online poll, which closed at 2.00 pm today, the Five Star Movement’s grassroots members gave Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte a mandate to bring a position opposing rearmament to the table in the progressive coalition: 98.3 per cent of voters said yes to upholding the ‘primacy of international law’; 94.1 per cent said ‘No to the EU Rearmament Plan’ and 91.8 per cent said ‘No to increasing defence spending’. 97.9 per cent called for the recognition of the State of Palestine, whilst 91.7 per cent stated that “continuing to send weapons moves us further away from peace”. All 159 proposals in the programme submitted by the Five Star Movement to its grassroots members were approved. A total of 45,340 people took part in the consultation, with 6,068,826 votes cast.
