Milan, 20 Sept. (LaPresse) – Atlético Madrid won the first capital derby of the season in La Liga, beating Real Madrid 2-1 after the visitors were reduced to ten men. Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonathan David scored in the second half for Atlético, who move up to second place in the table behind Barcelona, on 16 points, five behind the Catalans who remain unbeaten. Real played with ten men for almost the entire second half at the Metropolitano Stadium, with Dean Huijsen sent off in the 52nd minute for a last-man foul that led to the penalty that made it 1-0, converted by Grimaldo. Former Juventus player David doubled the lead in the 59th minute, before Antonio Rüdiger scored for Real Madrid in the 89th minute.
