Rome, September 21 (LaPresse) – Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum declared during an event in the state of Sinaloa that the federal government will indefinitely maintain security forces deployed in the state to support interim governor Graciela Domínguez Nava, who took office on August 25 following the second indefinite leave of absence of Governor Rubén Rocha Moya, who has been indicted by the Federal Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York for alleged links to drug trafficking. “First and foremost, all federal forces and everything necessary will remain here as long as necessary. We will not withdraw any element of the Army, National Guard, or Navy; they will remain in Sinaloa to support the governor and, above all, the people of Sinaloa,” he stated. During the same event, Sheinbaum rejected interference from foreign governments in the country. “We do not want interference from any foreign government in our territory. Interference breeds violence; development cooperation breeds peace,” he stated.
