Rome, 21 Sept. (LaPresse) – Fifteen witnesses have been called to reconstruct the weeks leading up to the double murder at Villa Pamphili. This is how the new hearing in the trial of Ford Rexal, alias Francis Charles Kaufman, began before the Court of Assizes in Rome. He stands accused of the murder of his partner Anastasia Trofimova and their 11-month-old daughter Andromeda, whose bodies were found on 7 June 2025 amongst the undergrowth. Before the examination of witnesses began, the judges addressed a number of preliminary issues relating to the hearing scheduled for 6 October, when the young woman’s parents, who reside in Russia, and two officers from the State Police’s Central Operations Service involved in the investigation are due to give evidence. The first to appear in court was a security guard at a venue in Piazza Farnese, who reported that on 21 May 2025 he had encountered a man he identified as Kaufman, together with his partner and their baby daughter. “He was visibly under the influence of alcohol and covered in blood,” the witness stated, explaining that he had captured the scene in a photograph, which was today added to the case file as evidence. Next to give evidence was the owner of a market stall adjacent to Villa Pamphili. The woman recounted “having seen the couple on several occasions, starting in April 2025, entering the market’s toilets to wash themselves”, confirming their regular presence in the park area in the weeks leading up to the double murder.
