(LaPresse) – “As regards the Congress, the Federal Council has unanimously reaffirmed its confidence in me as secretary, but as I said yesterday, I want the Congress – which represents all party members, all mayors and all regions – to have the final say. I have asked for this to be done quickly, so within a month at the latest.” So said the Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, at the end of the Federal Council meeting in Milan. Will the party’s constitution also be discussed? “At the Congress, anything can be discussed; that is why I am convening it. Will it be an elective Congress? I’m counting on it; I’m waiting for someone else to stand as a candidate,” he added.
