France will stand with Ukraine to face the winter, and the G7 Energy group will also be mobilised to support it.” French President Emmanuel Macron wrote this on X following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. “We are strengthening Ukraine’s air defences by signing a contract for the delivery of radar systems, as well as for the supply of interceptor missiles,” Macron added. “I have also discussed this support with President Trump, as well as the prospect of an energy truce and a moratorium in the Black Sea, which we support. This will be a key issue in the negotiations that must resume and that must lead to a just and lasting peace.”
