Turin, 22 Sept. (LaPresse) – The meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled for tomorrow, 23 September, in New York. This was stated in an interview with TASS by Kirill Loginov, director of the Department for International Organisations at the Russian Foreign Ministry, on the eve of the Russian delegation’s participation – led by Lavrov – in the proceedings of the United Nations General Assembly. “As far as I am aware, Lavrov’s meeting with Rubio is scheduled for 23 September,” he said. Regarding the possibility of bilateral meetings for Lavrov on the sidelines of the Assembly, Loginov reported that, “should requests to that effect be received”, including from representatives of Western countries, the Russian side “will consider them, taking into account the minister’s schedule during his stay in New York. We have never refused meetings”, he explained.
