(LaPresse) – “ The Istat figures worry me greatly: they confirm that four years of cuts and austerity, zero growth, record levels of tax burden, an arms race and disastrous agreements signed by the Government are keeping Italy trapped and preventing us from exiting the infringement procedure, whilst we remain exposed to the economic crises generated by wars on which the Prime Minister, in some cases, places ‘bets’ and, in others, ‘neither condemns nor endorses’ . We must act swiftly: rearmament programmes and plans for a dramatic increase in military spending must be reviewed and scaled back immediately in order to free up resources”. M5S leader Giuseppe Conte wrote this on social media. “We must focus on investment and growth and take the money from wherever it is available for targeted investments, providing relief to Italians who have been forgotten in hospitals, in their pay packets and at the petrol station. And let’s immediately release the 13 billion blocked by the propaganda surrounding the Strait Bridge (the first stone of which was a corruption investigation),” added the Five Star Movement president.
