Football: players turned their backs during a minute’s silence for Mazzola; Juventus fined 10,000 euros

Milan, 22 Sept. (LaPresse) – With regard to the matches on the final day of the Serie A season, the disciplinary committee did not suspend any players. As for the clubs, Juventus has been fined 10,000 euros “because a small percentage of supporters crowded into the South Stand, 1st tier, blatantly failed to observe the minute’s silence ordered by the FIGC (for the death of Sandro Mazzola, ed.); this penalty was mitigated in view of the club’s prompt and formal statement regarding the aforementioned reprehensible behaviour, as well as the dissociation of the rest of the crowd present at the stadium”.
