(LaPresse) – “Aware that parliamentary proceedings are public, he did not hesitate to pass on to MP Donzelli the secret information he had so persistently obtained from the head of the DA”. This is stated by the judges of the Third Court of Appeal in Rome in the 26-page judgment, filed at the end of August, in which they upheld on 20 May the eight-month sentence handed down to Andrea Delmastro for breaching official secrecy in the Cospito case. According to the judges, the former undersecretary acted “believing that the political purpose of using that information took precedence” and trusting that Donzelli would refer to it in the Chamber “in general terms”.
