Turin, 24 Sept. (LaPresse) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had not been authorised to negotiate or engage in direct dialogue with representatives of the US authorities. This was stated by Ali Khazarian, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Commission. “The talks took place outside the framework of the Islamic Republic’s policies,” said Khazarian, as quoted by Iran International, adding that MPs are pressing ahead with proceedings to seek the minister’s impeachment. “Whilst the terms of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding have not yet been implemented, the threat continues to hang over the Iranian people, and the US President, with his arrogant statements, continues to repeat threats of destruction; in the eyes of the other side, dialogue can only reinforce the image of weakness,” he added.
