This was stated by the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in his address to the UN General Assembly. Speaking from the podium of the UN General Assembly, the Tel Aviv leader lashed out at the Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, calling him “anti-Semitic”. “To all those who spread these lies about my country or my brave soldiers, whether they are in this chamber or in the office of the anti-Semitic mayor of New York, I say this: ‘Shame on you. Shame on you for distorting the facts’,” said Netanyahu. “Since Mamdani was elected mayor, many Jews no longer feel safe in New York; they have told me so,” he added. In 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an international arrest warrant for Netanyahu on charges of war crimes relating to Gaza, and Mamdani said he agreed with the ICC and that Netanyahu should be tried and arrested.
