Milan, 25 Sept. (LaPresse) – “The Italian economy has shown resilience to the energy price shock resulting from the conflict in the Middle East, and we expect a prudent fiscal stance to be maintained. Following average real GDP growth of 0.9 per cent in the first half of the year, we have revised our growth forecast for 2026 upwards to 0.8 per cent. This also reflects an inflationary impact from the energy price shock that is much more subdued than in the 2022–2023 period; we forecast average headline inflation of 2.8 per cent for the current year and 2.3 per cent in 2027.” This is stated in a note from the agency Moody’s regarding Italy’s credit ratings.
