This was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in an interview with CBS, confirming that Tehran will grant UN inspectors access to Iran’s nuclear facilities. When asked whether it was correct to say that Iran would allow UN inspectors to enter the country, Pezeshkian replied: “That is absolutely correct.” The Iranian president added that, if the inspectors wished to enter and carry out inspections, “we can reach agreements and understandings on this specific issue as part of the negotiations”. At the same time, Pezeshkian stated that Iran is not seeking to build a nuclear weapon, adding that, even if some people in Iran wanted to build a nuclear weapon, “from a religious point of view, they are not permitted to pursue that path”.
