The approach I had suggested has prevailed: not taxes, but engagement.” This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of his visit to the ‘Villaggio della legalità’ in Rome. “I am very pleased about this,” he added, “because Forza Italia’s approach has prevailed. Just as the first measure helped to cover the costs of the excise duty cut, today we are sending out another signal. I hope that all other companies will follow Eni’s example, because the best way to make things work is through dialogue. In this way, we do not unsettle the markets and we involve the business community in a strategy for growth: together, the government and private enterprises can provide concrete solutions for citizens.”
