Naples, 27 Sept. (LaPresse) – Record figures for Naples’ underground lines operated by the municipal company ANM. From Thursday to today – days during which the city is hosting the America’s Cup preliminary regatta – there have been over 1,100 journeys on Line 1 and over 430 journeys on Line 6, which, for the first time, has extended its operating hours until after midnight. Line 1 recorded an estimated 180,000 to 220,000 passengers per day, whilst Line 6 carried over 15,000 per day. In total, the estimate for these pre-regatta days stands at between 800,000 and 1 million passengers, “without any technical faults being recorded despite the heavy strain on the system”, emphasises Naples City Council. Today, Line 6 will continue to run until 00.30 and Line 1 until 2.00 am; 12 trains will be in service, with an average interval of less than 7 minutes and therefore an average waiting time of less than 3.5 minutes.
