Milan, 28 Sept. (LaPresse) – Taylor Swift made history and Nirvana received the 2026 Video Vanguard Award during the spectacular MTV Video Music Awards ceremony. Swift received the new ‘Artist Director Honors’ award, thereby becoming the most awarded artist in VMA history; she had previously shared the record for the most wins with Beyoncé. She also won the top prize, ‘Video of the Year’, dedicating it to Dolly Parton. Madonna opened the show alongside her recent collaborators Sabrina Carpenter and Charli xcx. The pop star was the big winner of the evening, taking home three awards: ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Best Dance Video’ (for the short film ‘Confessions II’) and ‘Best Collaboration’ (for the song ‘Bring Your Love’ with Sabrina Carpenter). LISA won the first award of the evening, for Best Pop Video. Snoop Dogg hosted the event, which was broadcast live on CBS from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
