(LaPresse) – Russia has continued its offensive against Kyiv with attacks lasting for hours, which continued throughout the evening and into the early hours of the morning between 27 and 28 September, striking civilian targets and causing deaths and injuries. On the evening of 27 September, two people were killed and four others injured in a Russian attack on the Stolichny food market, located just outside the capital, according to Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko. The attack sparked a fire at the wholesale market, according to the Kiev Independent. Footage captured by witnesses at the scene of the attack on the market shows flames engulfing vehicles in the car park. Air defence systems were activated over the skies of central Kyiv; the city was shaken by the sounds of detonations and explosions during a nine-hour air raid alert.
