(LaPresse) – The 47-year-old woman accused of throwing acid at lawyer Pierfrancesco Broccio in Messina has been arrested: the woman, charged with causing grievous bodily harm, was arrested last night by the Carabinieri from the provincial headquarters in Catania, the city where she was tracked down. The attack took place on Friday 25 September in Messina: the 47-year-old was a former client of the lawyer and had asked to meet him for legal advice. The lawyer had gone to Messina Centrale station to pick her up by car and take her to his office: as soon as she got out of the car, the woman allegedly took a small bottle from her handbag, threw acid at him and then fled on foot. The 58-year-old called 112 to alert the emergency services and initiate an investigation: following the intervention of the Carabinieri from the Messina Sud unit, a search for the woman began, and she was tracked down on the street in Catania yesterday evening.
