Donald Trump made these remarks whilst speaking to reporters at the White House, after meeting with key figures from the emerging industry. “There are many common ground in this room,” said the US President. “Everyone you see here today believes that there is no need for restrictions, no regulation of artificial intelligence or superintelligence,” but “there is a conviction that there should be a great deal of self-regulation, and automatically we have regulation through the Department of Justice, the FBI and all the rest. “But self-regulation is very important,” Trump stated. The President then reiterated that artificial intelligence will be renamed “superintelligence”.
