New Delhi, (India) Oct. 1 (LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that a plumber was responsible for averting a tragedy on a flight operated by Emirati low-cost airline Flydubai, which departed from Dubai and was headed to Tel Aviv, where a co-pilot stabbed the captain and attempted to crash the aircraft, a Boeing 737, carrying between 160 and 180 people, most of them Israeli. A video released by Netanyahu’s office showed passenger Yaniv Hayoun – who fought with the attacker – with his shirt covered in blood as he embraced the Prime Minister of Israel. Netanyahu told him: “I look at you and I see a lion. I see a great hero.” U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that he had discussed the incident “at length” with Netanyahu by phone and that it appeared the co-pilot “was perhaps a terrorist or maybe a deranged person. And he stabbed the pilot.” Hayoun said he managed to make his way, along with others, to the cockpit, where he saw the alleged attacker apparently attempting to destroy the controls.
