Milan, Oct. 1 (LaPresse) – Following the discounts introduced by Eni, Ip and Q8, fuel prices continue to fall, although prices on motorways are declining at a faster pace than on the regular road network. Codacons said this following the new data released today by Mimit. According to the study carried out by the association, in just four days the average price of diesel on the motorway network fell by 13.1 cents per liter, while petrol fell by 13.2 cents, whereas on the regular road network, over the same period, diesel fell by 9.2 cents and petrol by 7.5 cents. For motorists, the savings on a full tank amount to around 6.6 euros on motorways for both petrol and diesel, while on the regular road network the lower cost amounts to 4.6 euros for a full tank of diesel and 3.75 euros for a full tank of petrol, Codacons calculates. These are significant price cuts, Codacons says, but they are nevertheless not enough, the association states. On October 5, the 6.1-cent-per-liter cut in the diesel excise duty will also expire, and the following day the mechanism of variable excise duties will come into force, Codacons recalls.
