Frankfurt (Germany), 2 Oct. (LaPresse) – Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has ruled out the creation of further return centres in Albania for other European Union countries. “Centres in third countries alone are not the solution,” Rama told *Welt am Sonntag*, explaining that he had accepted the agreement signed in 2024 with Italy regarding migrant centres because Rome and Tirana are particularly close partners. “But to the others we say no,” he added, responding to a question about whether he would accept, for example, a potential request from Germany. Rama also warned against turning migration into an election campaign issue.
