Tennis, Djokovic: "I enjoy collaborating with Murray, hope we continue until Wimbledon"

Indian Wells (USA), March 7 (LaPresse) – "My intention was to continue from the day my tournament ended. He needed a bit more time to think about it, talk to his people, his family, and understand how much dedication he could put in and where he could be with me. I’m happy that he decided to continue as well: Indian Wells, Miami, and most of the clay-court season until Roland Garros. Then we hope to go all the way to Wimbledon." Novak Djokovic said this in a press conference ahead of his debut at Indian Wells, discussing his partnership with Andy Murray, who will follow the Serbian tennis player, having already been with him in Australia, through the two Sunshine Double stops. "I like this collaboration. I feel that we are both getting to know each other today in a way that’s different from how we knew each other on the court for the past 25 years. For him, this is a new role, and he’s still exploring how to excel in it. I try to communicate as much as possible, both on and off the court, so we understand each other better," he added. "In Australia, I played a great tournament; I was unlucky to end it that way, but it was an injury. As for my game, I believe I played my best tennis since the Olympics, and I definitely credit it to what we’ve done with Andy." Looking ahead to the Indian Wells Masters 1000, "I feel good and I’m looking forward to playing here and in Miami," he concluded. "It will be the first time I play the Sunshine Double after six years. It’s been since 2016 or 2017 that I couldn’t play well here and in Miami, where I struggle to find my best game. I know I won’t come back young, but I absolutely want to try to go all the way in this tournament. I’ve done what I needed to during the preparation, and now we’ll see how far I’ll go."
