Heavy rain that lashed Sepang flooded the track, prompting race control to delay the start. The race was scheduled to begin at 9.00 Italian time. Max Verstappen will start from pole in his Red Bull, with Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari alongside him on the front row. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli will start from third on the grid in an updated Mercedes.
