Milan, 4 Oct. (LaPresse) – Novak Djokovic was in a class of his own. With an incredible performance, the 39-year-old Serbian champion remains unbeaten in the ATP tournament in Beijing and reaches the semi-finals. In the quarter-finals, Djokovic staged a comeback to defeat the top seed and world No. 2, Germany’s Alexander Zverev, in three sets, winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 on his second match point after 2 hours and 35 minutes of play. For Zverev, the prospect of unseating Jannik Sinner from the top of the ATP rankings has faded for now; the German would have had to win both in Beijing and at the Shanghai Masters 1000 to overtake the Italian. In the semi-finals, Djokovic will face Russia’s Daniil Medvedev (3), who beat Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo in two sets, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
