Milan, 5 Oct. (LaPresse) – A year on, Carlos Alcaraz is back in the final of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships, the ATP 500 hard-court tournament in Tokyo. A final, if you like, that is even sweeter, as it is his first since the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000 – his first since returning from the wrist injury that kept him sidelined until the US Open. The world number 3 and top seed at the Japanese tournament defeated his compatriot Jaume Munar, ranked 64th in the ATP rankings and a qualifier, by a score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-1. On Tuesday, Alcaraz will play the 36th final of his career, against Jiri Lehecka (No. 19), who dominated his semi-final against Valentin Vacherot (No. 14 in the ATP rankings and No. 8 in the tournament), winning 6-4, 6-2.
