Politico has been barred from travelling on Air Force One for Donald Trump’s visit to Nebraska today. This was reported by CNN, which had itself already been prevented from travelling with the president, despite a federal judge having imposed a temporary stay on the blanket ban imposed by Trump on Politico, CNN and MSNBC from accessing the White House. The judge’s injunction remains in force until 8 October, but the news organisations involved have requested an extension until the matter is resolved in court. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday regarding the lawsuit brought by the three news organisations against the administration’s ban. The White House has previously argued that the judge’s ruling does not apply to Air Force One, the aircraft used to transport the president, members of the government and media representatives to official events. Politico was due to serve as the print media pool for today’s trip.
